Job Description

Manufacturer of plastic and composite products in Buffalo, NY is looking for a material handler/batcher to join their team!!

2nd shift hours - 2pm-10:30pm, will train on 1st shift

Pay varies based on experience - $22-24/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely handle, measure, and mix raw materials (including resins, hardeners, additives, and fiberglass) according to batch instructions.
  • Stage and deliver materials to production lines in a timely manner to ensure continuous operation.
  • Ensure production lines are properly stocked with all necessary materials throughout the shift.
  • During production downtimes, assist with manufacturing tasks on the shop floor as directed by the supervisor.
  • Use scales, mixers, pumps, and other batch-making equipment correctly and safely.
  • Maintain accurate records of batches, materials used, and inventory levels.
  • Monitor the condition of materials and report any issues (e.g., contamination, spoilage, improper labeling).
  • Operate forklifts or pallet jacks to move materials and containers.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing incoming raw materials.
  • Perform routine housekeeping of the batch area and material storage areas.
  • Support production needs and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in batch making, chemical handling, or materials management preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, formulas, and safety data sheets.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working in an environment with exposure to chemicals, dust, and fiberglass.
