Well established, Locally-owned insurance brokerage seeking a Commercial Lines CSR to join the team! This growing firm offers a fun team environment, great benefits and room for personal and professional growth.This role will be responsible for reviewing applications, working with producers, preparing proposals, processing renewals, endorsements and client claims, and typical commercial lines account servicing.

Responsibilities:

  • Working in a team environment with the goal of growing our business profitably
  • Keeping current with trends in new coverage's and client exposures
  • Utilizing our state-of-the-art technology and systems to educate, communicate and engage clients year-round
  • Familiarize yourself with our other business units and products/services offered for cross-sell opportunities
  • Become proficient in our Agency Management System, AMS360 and P&C related systems
  • Reviewing client’s coverage's; identifying gaps/weaknesses in coverage and offering solutions
  • Inputting submissions on carrier websites
  • Ensuring renewals and endorsements are complete and processed in a timely fashion
  • Engage with underwriters to ensure competitive pricing and coverage
  • Handle customer inquiries, issue certificates of insurance, process claims
  • Document and update customer records based on interactions
  • Develop and maintain a knowledge base of the evolving products and services

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years previous experience in commercial lines CSR position
  • Underwriting and commercial lines marketing experience is a plus
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and producers
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must feel comfortable working with Microsoft Office products; primarily Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Prior experience with AMS 360 is a plus

Erika received her undergraduate degree from Canisius College and, after falling in love with the Queen city, decided to stay. Shortly after leaving school in 2011, she accepted a full time job with APS as an administrative assistant soon thereafter earning a role as a recruiter, assistant branch manager, and now Northtown’s Area Manager. In this role, she has learned to put on several “hats”: assisting in new client development and on-boarding, assisting with operational functions and internal training, dabbling in website updates and advertising, etc etc. Most importantly, Erika is a true “people-centric” person- she enjoys maintaining a role in the recruiting arena, for both meeting and interviewing prospective employees and working closely with a dedicated client base.
