-Set up job according to specifications of work order, engineering drawings and related documentation. Follows directions and produces required quantity of parts.
-Works on different types of equipment to carry out a particular phase of the production cycle.
-Must produce parts within required tolerances.
-Is responsible for taking care of routine machine maintenance and keeping work area in neat condition.
-Follows all company safety rules, including machine operation and guarding.
-Maintains simple reports on work orders handled, quantities produced and quality reports.
-Ability to follow work order instructions, blue print reading and geometric tolerances.
-Proper and safe use of material handling equipment such as cranes, carts, etc.
-Performs miscellaneous duties and participates in training as assigned by a supervisor.
-Must have good working knowledge of material identification and processing characteristics and processes such as heat treatment etc.
-Strong working knowledge with work holding, cutting tools, grinding wheels and shop supplies.
-Ability to plan, program, setup and run production based on engineering drawings and related documentation.
-Ability to follow quality plans and the proper use, care and calibration of inspection tooling and equipment.
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Work involves a wide range of physical movements including stooping, bending, standing, pulling and pushing.
-Must be constantly searching to improve processing methods and run times without sacrificing safety or quality. Must utilize time effectively.
-Ability to provide mechanical assembly support is necessary.
-Follows all company policies, procedures and work rules.
-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and other stakeholders.
-Must have 1+ year of machining experience or training, 5+ years preferred
-Must be comfortable running machines, such as CNC lathes and mills, vertical/horizontal mills, surface grinders, brake press, manual lathes/mills, etc.
-Must have a high level of mechanical aptitude
-Must be able to read and decipher blue prints
-Experience programming with MasterCAM a plus
-Welding, panel building, and electronic assembly a plus
